Adidas is known for making the high end Predators and F-50′s but what most people do not know is Adidas makes several impressive middle range shoes. Football boots do not have to cost $200 to be considered a great shoe, there are soccer players of all types and levels who deserve the same quality product as those elite players purchasing the flagship soccer cleats.

The Adidas adiNOVA II TRX FG are priced at a cool $60 and have all the necessary bells and whistles for the average up and coming soccer player. Similar to its older brother, the Predator, the adiNOVA has offset laces, durable and comfortable sole, and a fold over tongue for clean strikes on the ball.

No, the football boots are not identical but the features are quiet astounding for a shoe under $100:

1. First-kick leather upper is soft and forms to the foot nicely.

2. Offset lacing for a larger contact surface.

3. Synthetic lining for a structurally sound soccer cleat.

4. EVA sole (the same one found on the Predator) for comfort and support.

5. adiPRENE® under the heel for cushioning against the constant pounding of running up and down the field.

6. TPU plate built into the undercarriage for longevity and lightweight performance.

7. TRAXION™ FG (Firm Ground) outsole for traction on grass and synthetic in dry to damp climates.

The savings come from adidas swapping out leather for synthetic materials on the insole of the soccer cleats and using a lower quality leather for the boot upper. Minor details when it comes to performance and comfort unless a player is playing several games a weekend. The Adidas adiNOVA II TRX FG is perfect for the casual or weekend soccer player. I would not recommend this shoe for the elite, competitive player training more than twice a week and playing a couple games a weekend. Although shoe is comfortable synthetic cleats do not wear as well as leather.
